Time to get ready for colder weather.
Disconnect garden hoses.
Cover exterior faucets or drain them using interior valves if you have them.
Have the furnace serviced and be sure the technician puts a service tag in a visible location.
Take a look in the attic and crawlspace. Rodents move inside when it's cold. If there are
signs of rodent activity, call a pest control operator or put out bait. Bait should be kept
away from pets and children.
Clean the gutters and downspouts. Public street drains near you as well.
